“Christian
colleges once held forth boldly and without compromise for a view of life
with Christ at “the bottom” (to paraphrase an early motto
of Harvard College) and the Word of God central to all we think, say,
and do. Over the past century, that vision has been compromised and largely
lost. … Happily, however, exciting progress is being made. Here
and there, Christian colleges and universities are beginning to articulate
a clear and compelling vision of life lived in its totality
