Dr. Michael Ward, “the foremost living C. S. Lewis scholar and brilliant writer” (The Times Literary Supplement) and author of the book, Planet Narnia, will be speaking at the Big Stone Gap House, Thursday evening, 7:00 pm, on "C. S. Lewis: The Man and his Life."

Dr. Ward served as Chaplain of Peterhouse in the University of Cambridge between 2004 and 2007. He was resident Warden of The Kilns, C. S. Lewis's Oxford home, from 1996 to 1999. He studied English at Oxford, Theology at Cambridge, and has a Ph.D. in Divinity from St. Andrews University, St. Andrews, Scotland. Dr. Ward's chief claim to fame, however, is that he handed a pair of X-ray spectacles to James Bond in the movie, The World Is Not Enough.
