Professor Jean Humphreys has taught sociology at Dallas Baptist University since 1990.  She teaches various courses including some favorites such as Juvenile Delinquency, Research Methods, and Social Psychology.  She fills her spare time with church and community activities, such as Daughters of Abraham, Volunteer Center of North Texas, and Arlington Young Life.  After waiting for her children to "grow up,” she is working on her doctorate in Public and Urban Administration at UTA.  She is currently working on her dissertation - "A collective memory of Muslims adolescences in the U. S. September 11, 2009."

She and her husband, John, have three children, twin boys and one daughter and live in Arlington. John is Director of  DBU Mansfield. Josh just graduated as an accounting major at William Jewell College and is going to law school at Texas Tech.  Jordan graduated from Howard Payne University as a Business/Public Policy major and is working for Konica Minolta.  Lauren graduated from Howard Payne and is teaching art at Workman Junior High in Arlington.   She was married last summer to Zack Kulesz July 4th and is enjoying life! The Humphreys currently have Boone, one great golden retriever at home.
