Job Descriptions
Writing Consultant
- Assist international, adult, and traditional age students with writing skills
- Create quick reference flyers to be placed on web site and for in-person consultations
- Assist in general office duties
Qualifications
- One must be a DBU student
- Completion of at least thirty (30) credit hours with credit for ENGL 1301 and 1302, a major in English is not necessary, graduate students are encouraged to apply
- Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
- English Course GPA of 3.5 or higher
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership and negotiation abilities
- Strong Christian character
- Servant leadership qualities
Receptionist
- Answer phones
- Sign-in students for consultations
- File
- General office duties
Qualifications
- Must be a DBU freshman or sophomore in good standing
- Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
- English Course GPA of 3.5 or higher (high school)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership and negotiation abilities
- Strong Christian character
- Servant leadership qualities

How to Apply
Fill out the appropriate application and give the Recommendation Form to two faculty or staff members. One recommendation must be from an English professor (for fresmen, this form may be emailed from your high school English teacher). Bring these to the Writing Center along with a sample of your writing (an essay, research paper, or other writing assignment).
