Hello my fellow Patriots!!!
I hope the semester is going extremely well thus far. It’s definitely been a blessing seeing all the new and familiar faces here on campus. I cannot express how ecstatic I am about this 2009-2010 academic year. I truly believe that this year will be the best Dallas Baptist University has ever seen. There are definitely some new and exciting things happening right now on this campus.
I cannot express how proud I have been of our Student Government Association thus far. We are currently in the beginning stages of developing ourselves as an effective organization. We have been striving hard at fulfilling the purpose of our organization which is leading, serving, and representing the student body. Since the beginning of the semester, we have already hosted three official events such as Capture the Flag, the Carter BloodCare Blood Drive, and the SGA/Student Life Coke Break. Each member of SGA has been personally seeking out the ideas, needs, and desires from over a hundred various students on this campus through certain focus groups called Connect Groups. In these Connect Groups, each member of SGA has sat down with four or more students from the University’s student body to ask what we can specifically do for them. These groups will meet during the second week of each month and will continue throughout the entire 2009-2010 school year. They have immense potential to do some great things and I look forward to what will happen through the Connect Groups throughout this coming year.
I would also like to formally invite you to attend our SGA meetings which are held every first and third Thursday of the month in the Widner Room (first floor of the Collins Learning Center) at 3:30 P.M. We would thoroughly enjoy you coming and seeing what we are currently working on as an organization. This would increase our accountability and your knowledge of the various happenings on this campus.
I know that each one of the Senators and Cabinet members within SGA will do an unbelievable job at serving you this year. We will consistently seek you out to get to know what we can do for you on this campus through genuine leadership, service, and representation. I eagerly look forward to some excellent things that are to come and I hope that you do as well. If you need absolutely anything, let those wearing the blue SGA polo shirts know and they will lend a listening ear. Blessings to you. Much love.
In Christ,
Chad Rosell
President 2009-2010
Student Government Association
Leadership. Service. Representation.
