Online instructors require class participation through a tool
called "Discussion Board." Students should be active in these discussions; contribute
early and frequently to help stimulate conversation. Replying
to a Discussion Post
Once you are in the discussion board area, first click on
the forum in which you want to participate. Next,
click on Discussion Board link by clicking on the topic name.

Once you are in the forum, click on the link to the thread
to which you would like to reply.

Then, click the
button.
Fill out the message text and, if you want to attach a file,
use the process described below. When you are ready to submit
your message, click the SUBMIT button.
Creating a New Discussion Post
If the professor has not provided an original thread for you
to respond to, you will need to add a new thread in order
to answer the discussion question(s). If you are required
to add a new thread, you will see the 
button in the upper left-hand part of the screen once you
are inside the forum.
To add a new thread, click this button and type in the subject
and message of your posting.

While responding to a thread, you can add a file attachment
to the message by clicking on the
button next to the ATTACHMENT area to scan your computer,
network file space, or floppy disk for your desired file.
Once you have located the correct file, click OPEN.
This will ttach the file to the discussion board posting.
Continue filling out the subject heading and message text
for your discussion post. Click
when you have completed the message and are ready to post
your reply.
