Circulation periods
Faculty
members may place Library materials or personal items on reserve
for students to use in connection with their coursework. These
items are shelved behind the circulation desk for restricted
use.
To
place an item on reserve, you must complete a Library
Reserve
Request Form.
LIBRARY-OWNED
MATERIALS
- Submit
one Reserve Request Form
for each item requested. Please provide complete information.
- Library
staff will retrieve the requested item and process it for
reserve status.
- Library
reference materials may not be placed on reserve.
- A
confirmation notice will be sent to you.
JOURNAL
ARTICLES
- Submit
one Reserve Request Form
for each article BEFORE submitting the article.
- Copies of articles
must be brought to the circulation desk.
- Each
article will be processed and held with other reserve items at
the circulation desk.
PERSONAL
ITEMS
- Submit
one Reserve Request Form
for each item BEFORE submitting the item.
- Personal
items must be brought to the circulation desk.
- Each
item will be processed for reserve circulation by placing
a barcode sticker on the item. This will assist in accurate
materials management.
- Personal
items will be treated with care; however, the Library cannot
be held liable for lost or damaged items.
GENERAL
GUIDELINES
- Reserve
status extends to the end of each semester.
- At
semester end, items on Reserve will be returned to the circulation
shelves, or to their owners.
- Items
to be held on reserve in succeeding terms (Spring-Summer,
Fall-Spring, etc.) may remain on reserve at the request
of the instructor. To authorize this extension, you must
submit another Reserve Request
Form prior to the end of the current semester.
- Faculty
and staff must abide by the same policies as other users
when accessing reserve materials. The reserving instructor
must authorize any exceptions.
- Some
items housed behind the circulation desk (such as videos
and DVDs) are not automatically on reserve. If you wish
to place such an item on reserve, the procedures outlined
above must be followed.
