International Week

Once a year DBU is treated to a week of international festivities.  International Chapel, food and culture events, international soccer tournament, and a Sakura Festival are some of the events that were held.  Students, faculty, and staff come together to celebrate the diversity of our campus and to learn from each other. 

Food and Culture Events:

Three of our international organizations came together for the first time to sponsor the Food and Culture Night.  Each organization had tables decorated with artifacts and filled with delicious food from India, Nepal, and Africa. We also had an Indian game and Henna art available, as well as a traditional dance performance from each group. It was wonderful to see all the students from each country mixing together and trying each other’s foods and games.

 

The university also hosted its annual Food and Culture Fair.  All of the international student organizations put together dishes from home to share with the university.

International Retreat

The International Retreat is a weekend long event where international and American students get away, have some fun, and and become accustomed to different cultures.
