Application must be mailed within 60 days after graduating. 

Graduating students can apply 90 days before graduation, and up to 60 days after graduation.  The application must be received before day 60.

Students must file with DBU registrar's office for graduation.

All OPT Applications are by Individual Appointments. Call 214-333-6905 or come by the DIAI (Department of International Admissions and Immigration) office to make an appointment.

Choose an OPT start date within 60 days of graduation.  OPT will end one year later.

APPOINTMENT PROCEDURES: Bring to your appointment :

   1.  The current I-20 ID.

   2.  Completed I-765

   3.  Personal check or money order made out to Department of Homeland

        Security for $380.00

        In the bottom left hand corner write you personal SEVIS ID (from your I-20

        top right hand side) and OPT

   4.  Passport with expiration, visa and identity pages.

   5.  I-94 

   6.  Two color photos to specifications

   7.  Previous EAD card(s) or refusal letter(s) (If you have one)

ALL FORMS NEED TO BE PREPARED PRIOR TO THE MEETING!

 

Within 2 weeks the TSC Office should send a receipt notice with a processing

number. The processing time is typically between 30 and 90 days.  When

the card has been received by the Department of International Admissions and
Immigration you will be called to pick up your card.  


Keep a close check on the processing of your check in your bank account. It

should have the same SRC processing number on it.  Make a copy of the check
as soon as it clears your bank.
