The dual degree program of the Master of Arts in Communication (M.A. in Communication) and the Master of Arts in Management (M.A. in Management) is designed to provide the communication, leadership, and management skills needed in today's business organizations. The dual degree plan is a 60-hour program, with students completing 30 hours of courses in the M.A. in Communication and 30 hours of courses in the M.A. in Management. Because the business environment is dynamic, special attention is given to organizational communication, adapting to organizational change, performance management, strategic communication management, and communication for global organizations.
In order to pursue a Dual Master's Degree program, the applicant must apply to, meet the existing admission requirements for, and be accepted into each of the master's degrees which comprise the dual degree program.
M.A. IN MANAGEMENT PREREQUISITES:
Principles of Management or MANA 51.521 Management Theory
Business and Public Law or MANA 51.522 Business Legal Environment
Principles of Marketing or MRKT 51.521 Marketing Concepts
BUAD 5301 Orientation to American Business Technology and Culture (for International Students only)
Prerequisites may be met with equivalent courses from another institution and do not count toward degree completion.
Continuance in the M.A. in Management program past the first twelve (12) hours is pending submission of a satisfactory score Miller Analogies Test (MAT) or Graduate Record Examinations® (GRE®).
M.A. IN COMMUNICATION REQUIRED CURRICULUM - 30 hours (excluding prerequisites)
