Dr. Thomas J. Bell III
Dr. Thomas J. Bell III is a tenured full professor of Business Administration at
Texas Wesleyan University in Forth Worth, Texas and has been an Adjunct at Dallas Baptist University since
2005. Dr. Bell has taught course in Business Administration, Management and Management/Computer
Information Systems at the undergraduate and graduate levels since 1993.
Intellectual Contribution: Dr. Bell writes quarterly material for the
Business/Technology Chapters of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Direct. CPE Direct articles are
release in conjunction with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) journal.
Additional publications include several discipline related journals and conferences.
Industry Experience: Dr. Bell began his engineering career as a software engineer
working for General Dynamics Fort Worth Division and E-Systems Greenville Division. Dr. Bell worked in
the defense industry over 12 years as a software engineer before entering academia where he has been since
1995.
Professional Credentials: Dr. Bell also has several IT industry certifications most
notably Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). As an IT auditor, Dr. Bell specializes in IT bank
auditing which consist of conducting information technology and compliance audit projects, and providing
consulting services to the organization’s management and staff. Other certifications include
Project Management (Project+), System Networking (Network+), and System Security (Security+).
Academic Credentials: Dr. Bell has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical
Engineering, a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management and he earned a Doctor of Philosophy
degree in Information Science from the University of North Texas.
