Applied Concentration

  6 semester hours must be upper level. Voice concentrations must complete AP Level IV. Piano concentrations must complete Piano Levels V-VIII.
Applied Secondary
4
  Piano proficiency level IV must be passed prior to the student-teaching semester. One credit hour of applied secondary credit is given for successful completion of Class Piano I or II (MUSI 1117 or MUSI 1118). Students who choose piano as the applied concentration must have voice as the secondary area of applied study.
Music Ensembles
7
  All music majors must enroll in a major ensemble appropriate to their applied concentration every semester until graduation, except for the student teaching semester. Ensemble experience will include six semesters in the Grand Chorus and at least one semester of the Music Theater Practicum or Opera Workshop.
