Susan Wyatt received the B.M. and M.M. degrees in Vocal Performance from the University of Illinois in Urbana/Champagne. She also holds the D.M.A. in Vocal Performance from the University of North Texas where she was a student of Virginia Botkin. Additional studies as a Rotary Scholar were done in Munich, Germany at the Goethe Institute (Certificate of German Language Proficiency) and in Cologne, Germany at the Staatliche Hochschule fur Musik.
Dr. Wyatt is an active member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing. In addition to teaching private voice at DBU, Wyatt has taught a group voice class at Brookhaven College in Dallas for several years. She is a paid soloist and serves as soprano section leader in the Chancel Choir of Lovers Lane United Methodist Church in Dallas.
An active performer, Dr. Wyatt has performed roles in opera and musical theatre having had a long collaboration with the Texas Gilbert & Sullivan Company singing such roles as Josephine in H.M.S. Pinafore, Casilda in The Gondoliers, and Ruth in The Pirates of Penzance. She has also collaborated in Broadway productions with Lyric Stage of Irving.
