Sara Marantz received a M.M. in Piano Performance from New England Conservatory of Music and a B.M. in Piano Performance from Georgia College and State University.
Sara teaches accompanying and serves as the coordinator of accompanist activities for the Department of Music. In that capacity, she enjoys an active career as a collaborative pianist in recital with students, faculty, and guest performers. She also serves as the pianist for the DBU Chorale, under the direction of Dr. Stephen Holcomb.
Sara currently serves as a pianist at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Cedar Hill, Texas, where, in addition to her accompanist duties, she has directed both handbell and vocal ensembles. Prior to this, she was the pianist for Duncanville's First Baptist Church for seventeen years, where she also served as coordinator of the children's choir program.
Sara is a member of Texas Music Teachers Association, and is an active participant in the activities of her local association, Dallas Southwest Music Teachers Association, where she currently serves on the board as the Student Affiliate Chairperson. She has maintained a private piano studio since 1985, and has a studio in her home in Cedar Hill, Texas. Sara is also in demand as a solo pianist, performing regularly in the DFW Metroplex area. She enjoys a career as a collaborative pianist in the Dallas area, performing with various artists, students, schools, churches, and musical orgnizations. She has recently served as pianist and musical associate for several musicals produced by area communty organizations such as First Baptist Church of Dallas, and the city of Grand Prairie, performing Fiddler on the Roof and Little Women.
