Ronald E. Bowles (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Ronald E. Bowles is the Dean of the College of Fine Arts and Director of Church Music Studies at Dallas Baptist University. His DBU teaching responsibilities include courses in church music and communications. He received the Bachelor of Music Education from Baylor University, the Master of Arts (Communications) from Baylor University, the Master of Church Music from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is presently pursuing the Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership at Dallas Baptist University. He has also completed additional studies in English choral and church music at Clare College, Cambridge, Regent's Park College, Oxford, and the Royal School of Church Music, London.
Ron Bowles' professional career spans more than 30 years in church music, communications and church administration. A noted conductor and worship leader, Mr. Bowles has preformed and conducted concert programs in over 46 states and 13 foreign countries. Prior to coming to DBU in 2005, he was Minister of Music/Worship and Communications at the First Baptist Church of El Paso for 22 years. During those years, he also served as an adjunct instructor in music and communications at the University of Texas at El Paso and Howard Payne University (El Paso).
Mr. Bowles is an active member of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), College Music Society, National Communication Association, the Hymn Society of America, and the Baptist Church Music Conference. He has also been active in Baptist denominational leadership serving two terms on the Executive Board of the Baptist General Convention of Texas, and numerous other boards and committees of the BGCT and the El Paso Baptist Association. He was ordained to the ministry by the First Baptist Church of El Paso in 1991.
Mr. Bowles is married to Suzanne Higgins Bowles and they make their home in Plano, Texas. Suzanne is Adjunct Professor of Voice at DBU and at Texas Woman's University in Denton. They are members of the Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas. Their special interests include attending concerts, history and travel.
