Jennifer Weaver (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Jennifer Weaver began teaching at Dallas Baptist University in the fall semester of 2010. In 2002, she earned a B.M.E. from Cedarville University, a small Christian university in central Ohio. While completing her M.M. in Music Theory at the University of North Texas, Jennifer was awarded the prestigious Priddy Fellowship in Arts Leadership. This fellowship is a year long graduate certificate which includes interdisciplinary coursework and collaboration with visual artists to learn principles of non-profit arts management. In 2007, Jennifer completed the graduate certificate in arts leadership and received her master's degree in music theory. She is currently working towards the completion of her Ph.D. in Music Theory at the University of North Texas and recently began work on her dissertation under the guidance of Dr. Frank Heidlberger and Dr. Graham Phipps. Her major research interests include history of music theory, music theory pedagogy, and opera.
Outside of her teaching career, Jennifer is also active in the local performing arts community. She has worked on the administration team at both the Murchison Performing Arts Center and the Shakespeare Festival of Dallas. She is a member of Texas Society for Music Theory, Society for Music Theory, College Music Society, and the International Association for Venue Managers.
