Residence Halls
There are 6 residence halls for students on the DBU campus as well as a 120-unit
apartment complex. Williams Hall, Lange Hall and Spence Hall are arranged in suites. Each room shares a bathroom with an adjoining room. The Crowley Complex consists of Calabria Hall, Crowley Hall, and Sharp Hall. These residence halls utilize a community style bathroom facility on each floor. Each residence hall has laundry facilities, vending machines, and a lobby area to receive guests. In addition to dorm rooms, the Residence Life complex also houses the Fill My Cup Coffee House, Dining Hall, the Rogers Baptist Student Ministry Center, and the Co-ed Lounge.

Apartments
The Colonial Village Apartments offer students a new alternative in university living. These 1,046 square feet luxury two bedroom, two bath apartments will accommodate up to four residents each. The apartments will include a full kitchen, washer and dryer, and furnished bedrooms. A beautifully landscaped pool area and clubhouse are also available to apartment residents. Placement priority is given to upperclassmen.

Students interested in living in the Colonial Village Apartments must fill out an Apartment Application and Medical History Form in the Apartment Life Office.  A $25.00 non-refundable application fee is due upon completion of an Apartment Application.

Once a student has received approval to live in the Colonial Village Apartments,
a lease agreement must be completed to reserve an apartment. Apartment residents are responsible for meeting all terms in regard to their lease agreement. Residents who forfeit their lease or become ineligible to remain in campus housing are still responsible for the terms of their lease agreement. For additional information about the Colonial Village Apartments please refer to the Colonial Village Apartments Resident and Community Policies and the Apartment Lease Contract. Interested parties may also contact the leasing office at (214)623-2787.

Room Amenities
Cable television and telephone services are offered at no charge. Each room is equipped with a basic cable TV hook up. A limited supply of cable cords are available and may be checked out from the Residence Life Office with a $5.00 security deposit. These cords must be returned to the Residence Life Office at the time of check out in order to be eligible for return of the deposit. Students may access cable with any cable-ready television.

A telephone jack is also included in each room. Students will need to provide their own telephone. Each telephone line is equipped with a voice mail function. Students are encouraged to check their voice mail on a regular basis. Old messages should be deleted. Students who choose to make long distance calls may secure an account with DBU’s long distance provider.

Each room is climate controlled. Students may adjust the fan in their own room.
Students should keep windows closed while the climate control system is in use.

Students also have access to the DBU computer network. Students may log on from their rooms to check e-mail and perform other functions through the DBU Intranet. See Internet Policies: page 71

Furniture
Rooms are equipped with beds, dressers, desks, and closets. Shifting or trading
of furniture between rooms without permission and/or altering or defacing property in any way is prohibited. Residence Hall furniture may not be taken apart or stacked. Due to the limited amount of space, the Resident Director must approve all additional furniture BEFORE THE STUDENT ARRIVES ON CAMPUS.
Laundry and Vending Machines
Laundry facilities, soft drinks, snack machines, change machines, and icemakers
are available in every residence hall. A coin-operated copy machine is available in the vending area of the Crowley Complex. Laundry machines will accept coins or laundry cards that can be purchased in the Crowley Complex vending area or in Spence Hall. Each laundry card holds up to ten dollars of laundry credit.
