Training Facilities and Sports Medicine

Dallas Baptist University Sports Medicine enters its fourth year under the guidance of Head Athletic Trainer Christopher Weeldreyer. Weeldreyer is a 2004 DBU graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and served on the sports medicine staff for three years as a student. In 2006, he received a master’s degree in Athletic Training from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.

While at Tech, Weeldreyer gained more sports medicine experience working high school, NAIA and NCAA Division I Collegiate athletics, as well as an internship in minor league baseball. Weeldreyer is an active member in National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) and Southwest Athletic Trainers’ Association SWATA. He is entrusted with the day-to-day operation of the athletic training rooms, care and prevention of athletic injuries, and the supervision of the sports medicine staff. 

Weeldreyer and his wife, Melissa, who is an athletic trainer at Texas Wesleyan University, live in Grand Prairie, Texas and attend The Village Church in Highland Village.
