On Saturday, Oct 31, 2009, the DBU Patriot Baseball Team partnered with the Dallas Baseball Alliance and the Oak Cliff YMCA to provide a free baseball clinic for local elementary age children around the area.

The DBU players were able to spend quality time with the children at the clinic, teaching them the fundamentals of baseball, specifically focusing on hitting, fielding, throwing, and base running.  The DBU players were given the opportunity to impact each child’s life during the clinic by providing them with helpful techniques that will help their baseball skill in the future.

Head Coach Dan Heefner said, "We were very excited to join with former DBU baseball player John Darjean and the Dallas Baseball Alliance in putting on a baseball clinic at the Oak Cliff YMCA.  Our goal is that Saturday’s clinic is not a one-time event, but the start of a partnership with the DBA that will enable our players to develop relationships with area youth to share our passion for baseball and more importantly to tell others about the difference Christ has made in our lives."
