DBU Athletic Discipleship Program

Dallas Baptist University is committed to every athlete growing toward spiritual maturity during their time at DBU. The athletic teams at DBU are committed to using athletics to glorify God and share His message.

The Discipleship program for DBU athletes consists of four main areas that include the DBU FCA Huddle, Team Bible Studies, Small Group Accountability, Bible Study and prayer, and service and ministry projects.

Each athletic team at DBU meets together for a team Bible Study often led by one of the coaches for that sport. These Bible Studies give each athlete at DBU the opportunity to apply Biblical principles to their lives with encouragement from coaches and teammates.

The Small Group aspect of athletic discipleship is meant to place each student athlete in a setting that allows them to discuss spiritual issues with their peers. These small groups are facilitated by student athletes and follow a small group guide.

Throughout the year, there are a variety of ministry or service opportunities for each student-athlete. DBU Athletics is committed to giving each athlete the opportunity to serve and help others that are in need.

Examples of ministry and service projects that athletes have and will participate in include: ushers at Billy Graham Crusade, a mission trip to Mexico, helping out with the Special Olympics, and sports camps and clinics.
