Kenny Trapp - Women's Golf

Kenny Trapp is entering his fifth year as Head Coach of the DBU Patriot Golf after previously serving as the Assistant Golf Coach for the 2004-2005 year. Trapp also played an instrumental role in the addition of Women’s Golf at DBU.

Trapp was born in Texas City and graduated from Texas City High School in 1996. He later played baseball for San Jacinto Junior College, Alvin Community College, and finally transferred to Dallas Baptist University. As Captain of the Patriot Baseball team all four years, Trapp led the nation in saves in 2000 (12) as well as wins (14) in 2001. He led the Patriots in back to back NAIA World Series in 2000-2001 and was drafted three different times. The final time he was drafted in the 26th round by the Boston Red Sox and played three years of minor league baseball.

DBU Patriot Golf has its most successful year in the program’s history in 2009 with several first throughout the year under Coach Trapp’s leadership, including the first ever tournament victory, coming at the St. Edward’s Invitational. The Men’s team also qualified for the NCAA Super Regional, and the Lady Patriot’s saw their first individual qualify for a Super Regional, as well as an individual tournament win. Overall Coach Trapp had five All-Conference players in 2009, three in 2008 and 2007, and two in 2006. Coach Trapp has also Head Coached three Freshman of the Year and was named 2007 Head Coach of the Year.

Trapp and his wife Reba (Low) a 2003 DBU graduate, who works for Dal-Tile as a financial analyst, live in Grand Prairie and attend First Baptist Church Royse City.
