EDAD 6301 (3-3-0) Instructional Leadership Development
This course will be a study of the essential components of the Texas model for instructional leadership at the school level. Students will study the relationship between a vision of success for all students and the concepts of planning, curriculum, appraisal, professional development and accountability. The need for a school culture that is learner-centered and collaborative, focused on student performance, based on high expectations for all students, and driven by a process of continuous improvement will be studied. This course will include the application of a framework of continuous improvement to school organization and individuals in order to promote student success. Students who successfully complete this course will qualify for the Instructional Leadership Development Certificate as required by the State of Texas for teacher appraisers.
