COSC 4306 (3-2-2) Bioinformatics Tools Practical hands-on approach to the major issues concerning representation and analysis of biological sequences and structure. Topics: accessing molecular databases, pattern search, classification of sequence and structure, alignment of sequences, rapid similarity searching, automated pattern learning, protein structure, gene expression profiling, clustering expressed genes, and discovering transcription factor binding sites. Lab fee.
