MUSI 1311 (3-3-0) Music Theory I A step-by-step study of the basic organization of music, from scale and chord structure to traditional four-part harmony. Students develop skills in analyzing music, writing elementary tonal music, and improvising written harmonizations to melodic lines. Fall, Spring, Summer. Prerequisite: MUSI 1300 or a passing score on the Theory Placement Exam.
