HIST 4319 (3-3-0) The Renaissance and the Reformation ErasA study of social, political, economic, and religious developments from the Renaissance through the Counter Reformation. Emphasis will be on the leading reformers and their theological views. Both the continental and English Reformation will be examined. The ensuing Counter Reformation which was born in the Council of Trent will be studied with a view to its impact on political and cultural consequences. Spring, even-numbered years, Online.
Prerequisite: 6 hours in history.
